Senior Tax Manager - Aalst

The Belgian office is looking for a Senior Corporate Tax Manager to join its practice to provide advisory services in the corporate income tax domain. The main tasks will consist of advisory in a wide variety of corporation tax issues, tax planning and restructuring, as well as tax audits, research for and writing of tax memoranda, tax compliance and review/calculation of  income tax provisions. This position involves advising Belgian based SME’s and larger international companies on the Belgian (and possibly foreign) tax implications of their operations on the Belgian territory and abroad.

Job description

  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality
  • Provide high quality tax advisory services and compliance expertise to clients within the agreed budget and deadline
  • Research and consulting on various tax matters including transfer pricing
  • Plan, execute and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries
  • Manage multiple requests from client services teams and clients directly
  • Act pro-actively to spot business and process improvements in client files and make recommendations to the client as a business advisor
  • Work closely with partners and other team members
  • Build and maintain strong client relations and cross-sell services
  • Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis
  • Perform other job-related duties as necessary

Requirements

  • University degree in law or economics, with a postgraduate qualification in tax 
  • Minimum of 5 years of current experience with a public accounting firm required
  • Corporate income tax specialisation but ability to make relevant links to other tax domains such as personal income tax and VAT where appropriate
  • Proven team player and ready to invest in building a relationship of trust with other team members
  • Good project management skills
  • Exposure to a wide range of industries with experience in tax planning, consulting, research and compliance review for corporate clients
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build client relationships with feel for impact of size, type and expectations of client firm
  • Experience with regard to transfer pricing or M&A and other restructurings is an advantage
  • Able to communicate fluently in English, Dutch and French (orally and in writing)
